Is Amanita Muscaria Legal in the United States?

The federal position is straightforward: Amanita muscaria is unscheduled, and muscimol is not a controlled substance.

Louisiana is the exception. Act No. 159 of 2005 lists Amanita muscaria among forty plants that are unlawful when intended for human consumption, and the state separately bans muscimol preparations. We do not ship Amanita products to Louisiana.

Florida and New York are both drafting legislation that would regulate Amanita much as they regulate hemp-derived cannabinoids — 21-plus verification, mandatory certificates of analysis, and packaging rules. We already meet all three as policy.
